The Bible teaches that death is not the end. Every person will be raised — those who trusted Christ to everlasting life with God, and those who rejected Him to judgment. The gospel is a rescue from that judgment, not a wish about it.
Scripture is honest about death and about hope. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul argues that Christ's resurrection guarantees the resurrection of all who belong to Him. The Christian's future is not disembodied floating but resurrected life on a renewed earth (Revelation 21).
